The Faculty of Agriculture UGM has once again implemented the Pondasi Program to support students during the Midterm Exams (UTS), which took place from 30 September to 11 October 2024. Every day, this program provided 200 free breakfast portions, aiming to enhance student welfare and readiness for exams. The program received support from various donors, including the Rahmat Foundation, which played a significant role in making this initiative possible.
During the 78th Anniversary Open Senate Meeting of the Faculty of Agriculture UGM, Ir. Jaka Widada, M.P., Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture UGM, shared insights about the Pondasi Program.
“To support student welfare during Midterm and Final Exams, the Faculty of Agriculture provides 200 free breakfast portions under the Pondasi Program. We extend our gratitude to the donors who have supported this program,” said the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture.
This initiative is also expected to improve students’ focus in preparing for and taking their midterm exams optimally. Olivia Regita Br Tarigan, a student from the Faculty of Agriculture UGM, shared her thoughts on the Pondasi Program.
“I’m very happy because this program allows me to focus on exam preparation. The time I would usually spend cooking breakfast can now be used to study,” said Olivia.
Dr. Dyah Weny Respatie, S.P., M.Si., Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs at the Faculty of Agriculture, also expressed her hopes for the Pondasi Program, which not only benefits students but also stimulates the economy of the faculty’s cafeteria tenants during the exam period.
“Through the Pondasi UTS Program, besides benefiting students, we hope to keep the economic activities of the Faculty of Agriculture’s cafeteria tenants running during the exam period. Every tenant at the Faculty’s Healthy Canteen is required to provide nutritious breakfasts with sufficient animal protein and use eco-friendly packaging, such as biodegradable materials,” said Weny.
The Pondasi UTS Program is one of the Faculty of Agriculture UGM’s efforts to achieve SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4: Quality Education, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
