Students of the Faculty of Agriculture, Gadjah Mada University, have once again achieved academic achievements at the national level. The student team consisting of Diva Nur Annisa (Agronomy, class of 2024), Miechell Ayu Fitriani (Soil Science, class of 2024), and Christa Bethany Hersanti (Agronomy, class of 2024) won third place in the National Essay Competition BIOLEAF 2026. The Student Creativity Program Team for Community Service (PKM-PM) of Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Tumandur carried out a socialization activity entitled “Empowering the PKK Women of Jurugsari Village through the Transformation of Organic Waste into Smart Compost Vessel-Based Liquid Biofertilizer towards an Agroregenerative Family Farm”. This activity took place on Monday, June 22, 2026 in Kampung Jurugsari RW 57, Joho, Condongcatur, Depok, Sleman, Special Region of Yogyakarta.

This program demonstrates UGM students’ concrete contribution to addressing environmental challenges, particularly the high volume of household waste, which is predominantly organic. The Faculty of Agriculture, Padjadjaran University, held a Curriculum Workshop for the Doctoral Program (S3) in Agricultural Sciences with the theme “A Globally Connected, Research-driven Doctoral Program” on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. This activity presented Dr. Dyah Weny Respatie, S.P., M.Si, Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Faculty of Agriculture, Gadjah Mada University (Faperta UGM), as the main speaker.

In her presentation, Dr. Dyah Weny emphasized the importance of developing a doctoral curriculum that is adaptive to global dynamics, research-based, and oriented toward Outcome-Based Education (OBE). She emphasized that doctoral graduates must possess superior research capacity, be able to produce reputable scientific publications, and make a significant contribution to addressing global challenges such as food security and climate change. read more
