Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), through its Public Relations Team, in collaboration with the Faculty of Agriculture (Faperta), continued its initiative to produce promotional content for study programs by creating a video for the Aquaculture Study Program on April 8, 2026.

The filming session involved the UGM Public Relations Team, the Faperta Media Unit, several lecturers, including Dr. Desy Putri Handayani, S.Pi., Dr. Ega Adhi Wicaksono, S.Pi., and Dr. drh. Nur Lailatul Fitrotun, as well as student representatives. This cross-unit collaboration reflects a strong commitment to delivering content that is informative, inspiring, and relevant to the issue of national food security.
The promotional video highlights the crucial role of aquaculture in addressing future food challenges. The narrative emphasizes Indonesia’s vast potential as a maritime nation, while also showcasing the learning process of students from upstream to downstream: from seed production, feed, water quality, pest and disease control, aquaculture entrepreneurship planning, to harvesting.

The visuals feature student activities in classrooms, laboratories, experimental ponds, as well as documentation of research and internships through the MBKM program. In addition, the content underscores the wide career prospects for graduates, ranging from researchers, academics, experts in ministries and fisheries companies, to entrepreneurs in aquaculture.
The initiative not only introduces the study program but also affirms its contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, SDG 13: Climate Action, SDG 14: Life Below Water, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
