Diving into the World of Hydroponics: A UGM Agronomy Student’s Internship Experience at PT. Lentera Agropedia Nusantara

Hasna Imtiyaz Hanun, a 2023 Agronomy student from the Faculty of Agriculture, Gadjah Mada University, successfully completed an internship at PT. Lentera Agropedia Nusantara from February to June 2026. This activity was carried out under the academic guidance of Dr. Ir. Endang Sulistyaningsih, M.Sc. and field supervision by Ardy Kisworo.

Hasna chose PT. Lentera Agropedia Nusantara because the company develops melon and leafy vegetable cultivation using a greenhouse-based hydroponic system. This soilless technology cultureCombined with IoT, it enables year-round production without seasonal constraints or attacks by plant pests. This innovation is the answer to the challenges of global food demand. read more

Strengthening the National Citrus Agribusiness: Faperta UGM Builds Multilateral Collaboration to Protect Crops from HLB

Citrus fruit is one of the leading horticultural commodities in Indonesia, with a total production reaching 2.45 million tons in 2024 and an economic value surpassing IDR 53.4 trillion. However, the sustainability of the livelihoods of most smallholder citrus farmers is now threatened by Huanglongbing (HLB) disease, also known as Citrus Vein Phloem Degeneration (CVPD), caused by the bacterium ‘Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus’ (CLas). In response to this destructive challenge, a research team from the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), has taken an active role in mitigation efforts to safeguard the national and global citrus industry. read more

The KKN-PPM Team of Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Langkara Talambo Period II in 2026 implemented a work program entitled “Ngolah Sisa, Njaga Rasa” with the Sumber Waras Women Farmers Group (KWT) at the Tahunan Village Hall, Nanggungan Hamlet, Tegalombo District, Pacitan Regency on July 20, 2026. This activity was initiated by Annisa Hizriani Faudina, a student of the Agricultural Microbiology Study Program class of 2023, as a real form of community service in increasing awareness of household organic waste management. read more
