Citrus fruit is one of the leading horticultural commodities in Indonesia, with a total production reaching 2.45 million tons in 2024 and an economic value surpassing IDR 53.4 trillion. However, the sustainability of the livelihoods of most smallholder citrus farmers is now threatened by Huanglongbing (HLB) disease, also known as Citrus Vein Phloem Degeneration (CVPD), caused by the bacterium ‘Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus’ (CLas).
