The Faculty of Agriculture, Gadjah Mada University, inaugurated Prof. Dr. Eko Setyobudi, S.Pi., M.Si. as Professor in the Field of Fisheries and Marine Biology on Thursday, June 25, 2026. The inauguration ceremony took place at the Balai Senat UGM with a speech entitled “Fisheries Biology: Concepts and Applications in Fisheries Resource Management for Sustainable Development”

In his speech, Prof. Eko emphasized that sustainable fisheries resource management must be based on accurate, detailed, and continuous biological data. He highlighted the need for a robust national fisheries data management system, supported by adaptive and representative sampling methods tailored to the characteristics of each water area. He argued that universities must play a strategic role as a key player in providing national fisheries biological data, so that academic contributions can directly support public policy. read more

The Fishery Product Technology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Gadjah Mada University (Faperta UGM) conducted a field assessment by the Independent Accreditation Institute for Higher Education in Agricultural Sciences (LAM PTIP). The second day (5/6/2026) was the main series, where the assessors, namely Prof. Dr. Roike Iwan Montolalu, S.Pi., M.Sc. (Sam Ratulangi University) and Prof. Dr. Ir.
