The Faculty of Agriculture, Padjadjaran University, held a Curriculum Workshop for the Doctoral Program (S3) in Agricultural Sciences with the theme “A Globally Connected, Research-driven Doctoral Program” on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. This activity presented Dr. Dyah Weny Respatie, S.P., M.Si, Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Faculty of Agriculture, Gadjah Mada University (Faperta UGM), as the main speaker.
In her presentation, Dr. Dyah Weny emphasized the importance of developing a doctoral curriculum that is adaptive to global dynamics, research-based, and oriented toward Outcome-Based Education (OBE). She emphasized that doctoral graduates must possess superior research capacity, be able to produce reputable scientific publications, and make a significant contribution to addressing global challenges such as food security and climate change.

The workshop also served as a platform to strengthen internationalization strategies through international co-supervision, international dissertation examinations, and cross-border academic networking. Dr. Dyah Weny emphasized that the transformation of doctoral education should not stop at completing a dissertation but should also result in real innovation and strategic expertise that impact society.
The hybrid event, held in the Doctoral Promotion Meeting Room of the Faculty of Agriculture, Padjadjaran University, and via Zoom, was attended by faculty administrators, doctoral course instructors, home-based lecturers, the promoter team, and professors. An interactive discussion with Dr. Dyah Weny provided an opportunity for participants to explore strategies for curriculum renewal, multidisciplinary research integration, and strengthening international academic collaboration.
With the presence of the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture UGM as a resource person, this workshop is expected to produce a more adaptive curriculum evaluation document, a research-based curriculum matrix and OBE, as well as an internationalization strategy that strengthens the position of the Doctoral Program in Agricultural Sciences as a globally competitive program.
This activity contributes to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education through the enhancement of research-based curricula and Outcome-Based Education; SDG 2: Zero Hunger by promoting research that supports global food security; SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure through the advancement and downstream application of agricultural research and innovation; SDG 13: Climate Action by integrating agroecosystem research to address climate-related challenges; SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through strengthened international academic collaboration and global research networks; and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth by fostering highly qualified doctoral graduates equipped to drive innovation, scientific advancement, and knowledge-based economic development.
