Plant Protection Student Wins Silver Medal for Gene Mining Research in Plant Disease Control

Diana Sinta Pramudita, a 2020 student from Plant Protection Program, earned a silver medal for her research project titled “Uncovering Anti-Virulence Proteins Through Gene Mining in Ralstonia pseudosolanacearum Phages as Potential Biocontrol Agents for Wilt Disease”. This achievement was presented at the 3rd International Conference in Biological Science X Open Bioproject Competition 2024. Her dedication to plant protection inspired this innovative approach to combating plant diseases.

Nana, as she is affectionately called, developed her research project during her internship at the Bioinformatics Research Center-Institute of Bioinformatics Indonesia (BRC INBIO). Her study focuses on bacterial wilt caused by Ralstonia pseudosolanacearum, a Gram-negative bacterium resistant to conventional control methods. read more

Faculty of Agriculture UGM and BRI Peduli Inaugurate the Joglo Tea, Coffee, and Cacao Learning Center

On 27 September 2024, the Faculty of Agriculture UGM officially inaugurated the Joglo Tea, Coffee, and Cacao Learning Center in collaboration with BRI Peduli, coinciding with the 78th anniversary of the Faculty of Agriculture. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was conducted by John Sarjono, Regional CEO of BRI Yogyakarta, accompanied by Ir. Jaka Widada, M.P., Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture UGM. This facility was established to support education, research, and community empowerment, especially in developing cocoa, tea, and coffee commodities. read more

BAEC Student Wins Gold Medal at ICoBioS 2024 with Research on Bioplastic Production Utilizing Bacterial and Yeast Symbiosis

Muhammad Rafi Gunadi, a student from the Bachelor Agricultural Extension and Communication Study Program (2023) at the Faculty of Agriculture UGM (Faperta UGM), has brought pride to the Faculty of Agriculture UGM on the international stage. Rafi, along with his colleague Khansa Eka Maulana (Geographic Information Systems 2024), won a gold medal in the Research for College Students category at the 3rd International Conference of Biological Science (ICoBioS) X OBC 2024 held at Universitas Brawijaya, Malang, on 28-29 September 2024. read more
