The field assistance team for the Callina (California) Papaya Planting Partnership Program, a collaboration between the Faculty of Agriculture at Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM) and PT Indomarco Prismatama (Indomaret), conducted a year-end evaluation on December 24, 2025. The visit aimed to review the progress of the cultivation and assess the achievements of the program, which has been running for approximately one year.

The visit, led by Dody Kastono, S.P., M.P. (Lecturer of Agronomy), showed that the Callina Papaya plants are now six months old and have entered the harvest phase, with all production input requirements being met optimally. read more

The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), held a handover ceremony for several strategic positions, including Heads of Departments, Secretaries of Departments, Heads of Study Programs, and Heads of Units within Faperta UGM. The event took place on Wednesday (7/1) at the Prof. Harjono Danoesastro Auditorium, Faperta UGM, and was attended by the deanery, outgoing officials, and newly appointed officials within the Faculty of Agriculture UGM.

This event marked an important milestone in the leadership transition to support the dynamics of faculty management in the future. The series of activities began with an opening, followed by the reading of excerpts from the Rector of UGM’s Decree regarding the appointment of Heads and Secretaries of Departments and Heads of Study Programs, as well as excerpts from the Dean of Faperta UGM’s Decree for the appointment of Heads of Units. The highlight of the event was the signing of the handover ceremony minutes, witnessed directly by the Dean of Faperta UGM (Ir. Jaka Widada, M.P., Ph.D.), Vice Deans, and the Secretary of the Faperta UGM Senate. read more

Plant Virology, the focus of Prof. Sedyo Hartono, holds strategic relevance in supporting food security, particularly through research on plant health, disease control, and increasing agricultural productivity. Meanwhile, the field of Fisheries and Marine Biology pursued by Prof. Eko Setyobudi plays a vital role in water resource management, marine ecosystem sustainability, and the development of a fisheries sector that is adaptive to environmental challenges. read more
