Mukhlis Ibrahim, a student of the Agricultural Science Doctoral Program at Gadjah Mada University and an LPDP awardee from the PK-225 class of 2024, successfully achieved a proud achievement at the prestigious international event, The 16th International Conference on Environmental and Agricultural Engineering (ICEAE 2026) which was held on June 5–6, 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand, in collaboration with Chulalongkorn University.

At the scientific forum, which brought together academics, researchers, and professionals from 13 countries, Mukhlis won two awards simultaneously: the Best Presentation Award and the Environmental Impact Paper Award. This achievement is a testament to the dedication, hard work, and academic integrity of UGM students in producing high-quality research focused on environmental sustainability.

This international achievement is not only a source of personal pride but also brings honor to Gadjah Mada University and the Indonesian academic world. Furthermore, the award demonstrates that research focused on environmental solutions plays a crucial role in addressing future global challenges.

“Achievement is not about being the best among many, but about having the courage to continue to develop, to go beyond one’s limits, and to bring broader benefits to others,” Mukhlis said in his reflection.

This success is expected to inspire Indonesia’s young generation to continue dreaming big, working hard, conducting research with dedication, and boldly bringing ideas and innovations to the international stage. The Faculty of Agriculture, Gadjah Mada University (UGM), affirms its commitment to continuously supporting students in producing work that benefits society, the nation, and the world.

Mukhlis Ibrahim’s achievements are closely linked to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, SDG 13: Climate Action, SDG 15: Life on Land, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. Through research focused on environmental sustainability and sustainable agricultural development, this achievement reflects the important role of higher education in advancing innovation, fostering international collaboration, and generating science-based solutions to address global environmental challenges.
