Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM) has reaffirmed its commitment to producing high-quality human resources. This initiative is bolstered by alumni of the faculty, organized under the Keluarga Alumni Universitas Gadjah Mada (KAGAMA) Pertanian, who have awarded scholarships to five students. The scholarships were presented during an alumni gathering on Sunday, 22 September 2024, by KAGAMA Pertanian’s Chairperson, Ir. YN Hari Hardono, along with the Dean of the Faculty, Ir. Jaka Widada, M.P., Ph.D., and all Vice Deans of the Faculty.

On 30 August 2024, the Microbiology Students Association (PERMAHAMI) held its latest academic discussion event, “Bincang Bareng Keilmuan” (BBK), titled “Study Abroad: Expanding Horizons through Education.” The event, which took place in the KPTU Room of Building A1 at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), saw the participation of 30 attendees from the Department of Agricultural Microbiology.
The discussion featured two guest speakers, Zikra Fathin Nabila and Sausan Syadzafie Shafar, both recipients of the ASEAN International Mobility for Students (AIMS) 2023 scholarship. They shared their valuable experiences from their student exchange programs in Japan and South Korea.
Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) welcomed 20 international students to visit the Segayung Cocoa Farm and the UGM Cocoa Teaching and Learning Industry in Batang, Central Java, on Wednesday, 21 August 2024. This year’s Summer Course, with the topic “Delicious Tale from Bean to Bar,” highlighting the cocoa commodity.
According to Nur Akbar Arofatullah, S.P., M.Biotech., Ph.D., the coordinator of the program, this Summer Course is dedicated to the cocoa commodity. “The aim of this summer course is to promote cocoa farming in Indonesia, particularly in the Special Region of Yogyakarta and Central Java, as a leading commodity with significant market potential. Additionally, this program is expected to introduce the educational system and facilities at Faculty of Agriculture UGM, as well as to open opportunities for collaboration with universities across Asia,” explained Dr. Akbar.
