The administrative staff of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), recently participated in a grape harvesting event on the rooftop of Building A1. This event not only celebrated the success of their rooftop vineyard but also supported the Health Promoting University (HPU) initiative aimed at improving staff well-being. Additionally, the activity strengthened the sense of community within the faculty, fostering a positive and collaborative atmosphere.
The implementation of HPU at the Faculty of Agriculture is evident through efforts to enhance health and well-being, especially for administrative staff, by promoting healthy eating habits. One of these efforts includes harvesting and consuming grapes grown on the rooftop vineyard of Building A1.

Agus Sudarwinto, S.E., M.M., Head of Administrative Office, emphasized that this initiative goes beyond promoting healthy living, as it also fosters a sense of togetherness and awareness of health within the faculty.
“Sharing and consuming grapes together is part of our commitment to implementing the Health Promoting University (HPU) initiative in the Faculty of Agriculture,” said Agus Sudarwinto.

In addition to the shared fruit consumption, the rooftop vineyard, cultivated over the past three years, contributes to creating a greener, more sustainable campus environment. This initiative aligns with the faculty’s slogan, “Smart Eco-Bioproduction”, which emphasizes sustainable, efficient, and eco-friendly agricultural practices.
Through this initiative, the Faculty of Agriculture not only promotes the health of its academic community but also serves as a model for modern urban agriculture. This effort supports several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, and SDG 15: Life on Land.
