Lentera DESA of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), participated as a facilitator in the Agri Training Camp (ATC) activity organized by the Agricultural Training Center (BAPELTAN) of Central Java. This batch of the ATC activity was attended by high school (SMA/MA/SMK) students collaborating with Islamic boarding schools (pondok pesantren) in Purworejo Regency.
During the event held on June 23, 2026, Lentera DESA dispatched two facilitators to assist and guide the participants throughout the sessions. The presence of the Faperta UGM team was focused on fostering an understanding of sustainable food self-sufficiency and the importance of sustainability in agricultural sector development through technological and educational approaches.

In the session presented by Lentera DESA, participants were invited to engage in interactive learning practices discussing the Agritech Platform concept. The facilitators introduced how digital technology can support farm management, access to knowledge, and agribusiness networking. Participants were also encouraged to become active members of Lentera DESA so they could access the provided learning resources and development programs.
One focus of the practical session was the introduction and utilization of the Farmer’s Logbook (Buku Tani) through the Lentera DESA platform. Through this module, participants learned how to record farming businesses digitally, ranging from logging cultivation activities and input usage to monitoring harvest yields, as an initial step toward building more structured and transparent agricultural practices.

Lentera DESA’s participation in this ATC is part of the commitment to the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, specifically community service. The provision of a free digital learning platform is aimed at expanding access to agricultural knowledge, particularly for the youth at the secondary education level who represent the future actors of agriculture.
This activity also reinforces Faperta UGM’s commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 1: No Poverty, SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
