The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), successfully organized the Gene Expression Workshop Mastering Real-Time PCR: Understanding Transcriptomic Dynamics Under Climate Change at Venture Room, 6th floor, Agrotropica Learning Center (AGLC) on Thursday, April 9, 2026. This workshop served as an intensive learning platform for academics and practitioners to deepen their understanding of transcriptomic dynamics in addressing the challenges of climate change.
The event commenced with opening remarks from Mgs. Muhammad Prima Putra, S.Pi., M.Sc., Ph.D., Manager of AGLC, and Widhi Dyah Sawitri, S.Si., M.Agr., Ph.D., Deputy Manager of AGLC. They highlighted the importance of cross-disciplinary collaboration in molecular research and introduced the advanced facilities available at AGLC.

The workshop featured a comprehensive series of sessions, including Material 1: Hands-on qPCR Analysis by Prof. Ani Widiastuti, S.P., M.P., Ph.D. (Lecturer, Department of Plant Protection), Laboratory practice sessions, Interactive discussions, Industry presentation by PT Kairos Jaya Sejahtera, highlighting the application of PCR technology in business, and Material 2: Gene Expression Data Analysis by Dr. Sc. M. Idris, S.Si., M.Si.

Running from 08.00 to 16.05 WIB, the workshop provided participants with a complete experience covering theory, practical application, and data analysis. The enthusiasm of participants was evident through their active engagement in discussions and laboratory practice.
This activity aligns with the Faculty of Agriculture UGM’s commitment to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, SDG 13: Climate Action, SDG 15: Life on Land, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
