On 27 September 2024, the Faculty of Agriculture UGM officially inaugurated the Joglo Tea, Coffee, and Cacao Learning Center in collaboration with BRI Peduli, coinciding with the 78th anniversary of the Faculty of Agriculture. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was conducted by John Sarjono, Regional CEO of BRI Yogyakarta, accompanied by Ir. Jaka Widada, M.P., Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture UGM. This facility was established to support education, research, and community empowerment, especially in developing cocoa, tea, and coffee commodities.

“Today, we are symbolically handing over the Joglo Tea, Coffee, and Cacao Learning Center. It is hoped that this infrastructure will be fully utilized to support research, academic development, and the promotion of the works produced here to the public and the business world,” said John Sarjono in his speech.

The event was also attended by the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture UGM, the Chairperson and Secretary of the Senate of the Faculty of Agriculture UGM, the Heads of Departments at the Faculty of Agriculture UGM, representatives of Faculty of Agriculture students, Fendi Maulana, Regional Funding & Retail Transaction Banking Head BRI Yogyakarta, and Luthfi Anggiawan, Branch Office Head BRI Cik Ditiro.

The inauguration of the Joglo Tea, Coffee, and Cacao Learning Center is a tangible result of the collaboration between the Faculty of Agriculture UGM and BRI in supporting the development of agricultural education in Indonesia. It is also hoped that this partnership will be sustainable, not only strengthening agricultural education but also bringing real change to the community, as conveyed by Ir. Jaka Widada, M.P., Ph.D., in his speech.

“Hopefully, the collaboration between the Faculty of Agriculture UGM and BRI will continue and bring various benefits,” said the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture UGM.

This event is also a concrete effort by the Faculty of Agriculture to achieve the SDGs, including SDG 1: No Poverty, SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 9: Industry Innovation and Infrastructure, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
