The Undergraduate Program in Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness (EPA), Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), has successfully achieved “Excellent” accreditation status from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT), valid from 5 November 2024 to 10 July 2029. This achievement is a recognition of the Faculty of Agriculture’s commitment to delivering high-quality education aligned with industry and societal needs.

The “Excellent” accreditation was granted after a rigorous evaluation process conducted by BAN-PT, which included assessments of the curriculum, facilities, faculty qualifications, and research conducted within the faculty.

Dr. Dyah Weny Respatie, S.P., M.Si., Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Faculty of Agriculture, stated, “With this achievement, we hope the EPA Program can maintain and continue to improve the already excellent quality of education and produce competent and outstanding graduates in their field.”

This accreditation is expected to further increase the appeal of the undergraduate programs at the Faculty of Agriculture UGM for prospective students and strengthen UGM’s reputation as one of Indonesia’s leading higher education institutions.

Dr. Hani Perwitasari, S.P., M.Sc., Head of the Faculty of Agriculture’s Quality Assurance Team, emphasized the role of accreditation in supporting the faculty’s vision and mission.

“Accreditation is essential for program visibility as it indicates that a study program has implemented a strong quality assurance system, ensuring that learning outcomes are achieved. This ultimately supports the realization of the vision and mission of the Faculty of Agriculture UGM,” explained Hani.

The EPA Program is committed to continuously enhancing educational quality and producing graduates who are prepared to face global challenges in agriculture and food. The Head of the EPA Program, Ir. Any Suryantini, M.M., Ph.D., stated that this achievement is proof of the program’s dedication to providing high-quality education that meets industry needs.

“We hope to continuously improve in education, research, and community engagement, as well as expand collaborations with institutions both nationally and internationally. Come join the EPA Program and be part of a bright future,” said Any.

With this “Excellent” accreditation, the Faculty of Agriculture UGM strengthens its position as one of the leading institutions in the field of agriculture in Indonesia. This milestone is also part of UGM’s ongoing commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 1: No Poverty, SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
