Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Public Relations, in collaboration with the Faculty of Agriculture (Faperta), has produced a promotional video for the Agricultural Extension and Communication Study Program (PKP). The short video, themed “Grow the Future with Prodi PKP UGM!”, aims to introduce the program’s strengths, facilities, and career prospects to prospective students.
The production involved Ratih Ineke Wati, S.P., M.Agr., Ph.D. as Head of the PKP Study Program, the UGM Public Relations team, the Faculty of Agriculture Media Unit, and several PKP students who participated as talents. Filming took place at various strategic locations, including the Faculty of Agriculture gazebo, Studio Agricia, the Green Screen Room, the Rural Reading Room, and the Extension Room, showcasing both dynamic learning activities and the comprehensive facilities available in the program.

The video’s storyboard highlights the journey of PKP students, from engaging directly with rural communities to utilizing agricultural communication technologies. The narration emphasizes PKP’s role as a bridge between farmers, technology, and society, supported by modern laboratories, professional cameras, and editing equipment that enhance students’ skills in media production and communication strategies.

The video also showcases the wide-ranging career opportunities available to PKP graduates, including roles as sociopreneurs, lecturers, researchers, agricultural extension officers, CSR practitioners, and community developers. Graduates may pursue careers in government institutions, private sectors, national and multinational companies, as well as the banking sector. The closing message reinforces that PKP students serve as vital connectors between knowledge and society.

This initiative reflects UGM and the Faculty of Agriculture’s commitment to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, SDG 13: Climate Action, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
