Successfully Holding the Selection of Dean Candidates 2026, Faperta UGM Selection Committee Oversees the Consensus Process

The Selection Committee (Pansel) for the Candidates for Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture UGM 2026 successfully organized the entire series of activities for the Determination of Candidates for Dean, which took place over two days, on July 29–30, 2026. The activity was conducted in a hybrid format centered at the Prof. Harjono Danoesastro Auditorium, Faperta UGM, and accessed via Zoom Meeting. The series of agendas proceeded in an orderly and transparent manner, prioritizing the spirit of togetherness among all members of the academic community. read more

Harmonizing the Revision of the Farmer Protection Law: UGM Professors’ Contribution to the SDGs

The commitment to strengthening the protection and empowerment of Indonesian farmers has entered a strategic phase through the Harmonization of the Third Amendment Bill to Law Number 19 of 2013. The event, held at the DPD RI Building, featured Prof. Subejo, S.P., M.Sc., Ph.D., Professor of the Faculty of Agriculture, Gadjah Mada University, as Coordinator of the Expert Team for Drafting the Bill. His presence emphasized the role of universities in overseeing public policies based on research and empirical experience. read more

Reviewing the Urgency of Farmer Regeneration in the Closing Session of SC-STAF 2026 Day 2: Bringing the Next Generation’s Voice into the Public Sphere

The series of the second day of the Summer Course on Sustainable Tropical Agriculture and Fisheries (SC-STAF) 2026, organized by the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, concluded with an in-depth interactive discussion. The closing session featured an international academic and Assistant Professor in agricultural economics from Shimane University, Japan, namely Rosalia Natalia Seleky, Ph.D.

This Faperta UGM alumna reviewed critical socio-economic perspectives in her presentation titled “The Importance of Next Generation Farmers: A Conceptual Framework to Bring the Potential Successor into Focus.” During the discussion, Dr. Seleky dissected the importance of direct involvement and providing an independent vocal space for the next generation of farming businesses to face the surging global food demands in the future. read more
