The KKN-PPM Team of Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Langkara Talambo Period II in 2026 implemented a work program entitled “Ngolah Sisa, Njaga Rasa” with the Sumber Waras Women Farmers Group (KWT) at the Tahunan Village Hall, Nanggungan Hamlet, Tegalombo District, Pacitan Regency on July 20, 2026. This activity was initiated by Annisa Hizriani Faudina, a student of the Agricultural Microbiology Study Program class of 2023, as a real form of community service in increasing awareness of household organic waste management. read more

SC-STAF 2026 Highlights One Health Aquaculture Through Insights from Xiamen University

The fourth day of the Summer Course on Sustainable Tropical Agriculture and Fisheries (SC-STAF) 2026, organized by the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), on Thursday, July 9, 2026, proceeded with great enthusiasm. The parallel classroom transformed into a center for international interactive discussion as participants from 7 countries were invited to delve into modern aquaculture innovations based on marine ecosystems or blue food.

One of the speakers featured in this parallel session was Prof. Weiwei You, Ph.D. He is a mariculture scientist who currently serves as the Vice Dean of the College of Ocean and Earth Sciences at Xiamen University, China. In addition to actively leading more than 30 strategic national research projects, Prof. You also holds important positions as the Vice President of the International Abalone Society and a member of the Technical Advisory Board at the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC). read more

Presentation of the Program Plan for Prospective Deans of the Faculty of Agriculture, UGM for the 2026–2031 Period

The Faculty of Agriculture, Gadjah Mada University (Faperta UGM) held a Program Plan Presentation for Prospective Dean Candidates for the 2026–2031 Period at the Prof. Harjono Danoesastro Auditorium and online via Zoom Meeting on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. This event provided a space for prospective dean candidates to convey their vision, mission, and work programs that will be the direction of faculty development for the next five years.

  1. Prof. Subejo, S.P., M.Sc., Ph.D.

Carrying the theme Loading Global Faculty for Sustainable Agrifood, Fisheries, and Rural Transformation, Prof. Subejo emphasized five main transformations, namely: Education, Research, Community Service, Innovation Downstreaming, and Governance. Strategic targets include world-class education, globally reputable research and innovation, downstreaming and commercialization of innovation, empowering impactful communities, strengthening national and international networks, green campus and circular bioeconomy, modern digital-based governance, and human resource welfare and development. read more
