The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), has implemented a Flexible Working Arrangement (FWA) policy in relation to the Nyepi Holy Day of the Saka New Year 1948 and Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah. This policy refers to the circular letter of the Vice Rector for Human Resources and Finance No. 2249/UN1.P4/DSDM/HK.01/2026 and the Circular Letter of the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology No. 2 of 2026.
The implementation of FWA at the Faculty of Agriculture is scheduled for:
● March 16 and 17, 2026 (two working days before the National Holiday and Joint Leave for Nyepi).
● March 25, 26, and 27, 2026 (three working days after the National Holiday and Joint Leave for Eid al-Fitr).
Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Ir. Jaka Widada, M.P., Ph.D., stated that this policy aims to optimize the performance of lecturers and education staff while supporting the effectiveness of task implementation during national holidays and joint leave.
The technical provisions for implementing FWA within the Faculty of Agriculture include:
● Attendance requirements during the FWA period will be waived.
● The rights of lecturers and education staff to receive meal allowances remain valid according to regulations.
● Unit leaders may require staff to be present on-site based on organizational needs.
● The criteria and composition of staff implementing FWA are determined by the respective unit leaders.
● Optimization of collaborative work systems and the use of information and communication technology to support task effectiveness.
The FWA policy also supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, and SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.

The Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) Implementation Unit of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UP Faperta UGM), organized a Ramadan 1447 H social service activity on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the Agrotropica Learning Center (AGLC) Building of the Faculty of Agriculture.
The event was attended by several faculty leaders, including Dr. Dyah Weny Respatie, S.P., M.Si., Dr. R.A. Siti Ari Budhiyanti, S.T.P., M.P., and Dr. dr. Camelia Herdini, M.Kes., Sp.THTBKL., Subsp. Onk(K)., FICS., who expressed their support for the social initiative.
The Faculty of Agriculture at Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), in collaboration with Kasetsart University, Thailand, held an open guest lecture for the UGM academic community and the general public on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. The lecture was delivered online via Zoom Meeting by Dr. Chanita Boonmak from the Duckweed Holobiont Resource and Research Center (DHBC), Kasetsart University, Thailand.
The lecture, titled “Duckweed Microbiome: Unlocking Bacterial Potential for Environmental and Food Applications”, presented research findings from a collaborative project funded by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) under the Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development (SATREPS) program.
