The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), held the Onboarding Volunteer Media Faperta UGM program on Friday, April 10, 2026, at the Agrohydro Laboratory, A2B Building. The event was attended by faculty leaders as well as students selected as media volunteers.

In his remarks, Prof. Subejo, S.P., M.Sc., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation, emphasized that the presence of media and journalistic activities plays a strategic role in building the faculty’s image and branding in the eyes of the public. He reminded the audience that publication is not merely documentation but also a communication tool that strengthens academic and social reputation. “In the 1990s, faculty publications started from wall magazines and typewriters. Today, with digital technology, we have greater opportunities to introduce the Faculty of Agriculture UGM to the world,” he said.

On this occasion, the new Head of the Media and Information Systems Unit, Tantriani, S.P., M.Agr., Ph.D., was also introduced. She warmly welcomed the volunteers, provided guidance, and emphasized the importance of collaboration and a spirit of learning in supporting the faculty’s publication activities. The media volunteers of Faperta UGM will be responsible for assisting documentation and publication activities within the faculty, ranging from event coverage and news writing to managing content for the website and social media.

This onboarding program serves as an important momentum to instill values of professionalism, ethics, and creativity in information management. With a spirit of collaboration, media volunteers are expected to produce content that is not only informative but also inspiring and relevant to the wider community.
This program supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
