Dharma Wanita Persatuan of Faculty of Agriculture UGM Holds Ramadan 1447 H Social Service Activity

The Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) Implementation Unit of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UP Faperta UGM), organized a Ramadan 1447 H social service activity on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the Agrotropica Learning Center (AGLC) Building of the Faculty of Agriculture.

The event was attended by several faculty leaders, including Dr. Dyah Weny Respatie, S.P., M.Si., Dr. R.A. Siti Ari Budhiyanti, S.T.P., M.P., and Dr. dr. Camelia Herdini, M.Kes., Sp.THTBKL., Subsp. Onk(K)., FICS., who expressed their support for the social initiative. read more

Faculty of Agriculture UGM Hosts Guest Lecture with Prof. Weiguo Cheng from Yamagata University

The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), once again presented an international guest lecture as part of a workshop entitled “Land Use and Management Changes and Organic Rice Farming in Shonai, Japan.” The event featured Prof. Weiguo Cheng from Yamagata University, Japan, as the keynote speaker.

The lecture was held at the Prof. Harjono Danoesastro Auditorium on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 08.00 to 09.45 WIB. A total of 313 participants attended the event, including students, researchers, academics, and representatives from the Agrotechnology Innovation Center (PIAT) UGM who share an interest in sustainable agriculture and land management. read more

UGM Aquaculture Student Gains International Research Experience at Ibaraki University through AIMS Program

Algifari Izzan Muska, familiarly known as Algi, a 2022 cohort student of the Aquaculture Study Program at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), successfully participated in a student exchange program at Ibaraki University, Japan, from 25 September 2025 to 21 January 2026. Over the course of four months, Algi not only acquired academic knowledge but also gained firsthand cultural experiences that enriched his global perspective.

At Ibaraki University, Algi enrolled in courses related to sustainable agriculture, soil science, and laboratory research. He also had the opportunity to serve as a research assistant in soil science projects, allowing him to be actively involved in research activities. According to him, the Japanese learning system emphasizes discussion and research-based approaches, encouraging students to think critically, ask questions, and engage intensively with lecturers and peers in research projects. read more
