Faculty of Agriculture UGM strives to support students during the mid-term exam period by serving free breakfast through “Pondasi UTS” program. During this mid-term exam period, the Faculty provides 200 portions of free breakfast every morning. The provision of free breakfast aims to support students to focus more on preparing for exams, without rushing to find or prepare breakfast in advance.
This was conveyed by Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Faculty of Agriculture UGM, Dr. Dyah Weny Respatie, S.P., M.Si., when met at the campus. Dr. Weny added that the “Pondasi UTS” program also aims to foster empathy between students.
“Hopefully, through this program, students can train to grow their empathy. Considering that the total number of students reached 3116 students, while the breakfast provided is only 200 portions, when he had already had a breakfast from the program, hopefully he might have a sense of alternating with other friends,” explained Dr. Weny.
On providing breakfast, this “Pondasi UTS” program collaborates with Kantin Sehat Faperta, Karitoru, IMB, and Korpagama of Faculty of Agriculture UGM. For the future, the Faculty of Agriculture UGM is committed to looking for donors and other partners so that the program can be continually conducted.
“We would like to foster a social spirit for alumni and donors to have a willingness to share with students,” concluded Dr. Weny.
