The Library of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), continues to strengthen its role as an academic space that supports a vibrant student research atmosphere. Through comprehensive offline and online services, the library serves as a center for reference, literacy, and learning support aligned with the needs of higher education and agricultural research.

As part of the faculty’s academic ecosystem, the Faperta UGM Library not only provides reading collections but also offers various services that facilitate students in accessing information, preparing scholarly works, and expanding their knowledge. This commitment aligns with the library’s vision as an excellent university library with a global outlook, reliable in supporting innovative education and learning, and research that contributes to the advancement of science and society.

Offline services: facilities, circulation, study spaces, and administration

In terms of offline services, the library provides circulation facilities for borrowing and returning textbooks through UGM’s SIMASTER system. Students can also utilize comfortable study spaces equipped with computers, access to UGM Electronic Thesis and Dissertation (ETD) collections, Faperta UGM‑specific ETD collections, discussion areas, and relaxation zones. Additional services include collection searches through computer catalogs, manual catalogs, or assistance from librarians, as well as periodical services containing journals, bulletins, magazines, and local and international newspapers.

To support smooth academic activities, the library also offers administrative services such as clearance letters (surat bebas pustaka), membership services, and correspondence. Students can use the Turnitin check service via the page http://ugm.id/similarityPN to verify the originality of their written works. In addition, self‑service facilities are available to enable more efficient book borrowing.

Online services: digital catalogs, AGRO Digilib, and subscribed journals

On the online side, the Faperta UGM Library can be accessed through http://lib.fapertaugm.ac.id for catalog searches and online databases. The AGRO Digilib service, a collaboration with Kubuku.id, provides digital books, lecture notes, and teaching materials accessible via Android, iOS, and Windows. The library also subscribes to several reputable journals, including CABI Compendium, Taylor & Francis, Nature, Oxford Academic, and various other scientific sources to support the quality of student research.

Building a productive, collaborative, and research‑oriented academic culture

The availability of these comprehensive services makes the Faperta UGM Library an important foundation in building a productive, collaborative, and research‑oriented academic culture. The library not only supports today’s academic needs but also prepares students to become young researchers ready to contribute to the advancement of science and society.

The integrated services provided by the Faperta UGM Library also support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education through equitable access to learning resources and scientific literature, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure through the development of digital library services and information infrastructure, SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production through the promotion of digital resources that reduce reliance on printed materials, SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions through improved access to information and knowledge management, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through collaborations with publishers, database providers, and digital platforms to expand access to scientific resources.
