The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), welcomed 11th-grade students from Senior High School 1 Anjatan (SMA Negeri 1 Anjatan) Indramayu, as part of their Campus Study Visit held on Thursday, 10 January 2025, at the Prof. Harjono Danoesastro Auditorium. The visit aimed at introducing students to the various academic departments and flagship programs offered by the faculty, while also inspiring them to pursue higher education.

During the visit, the students were introduced to six departments within the faculty: the Department of Fisheries, Department of Agricultural Socioeconomics, Department of Agricultural Microbiology, Department of Soil Science, Department of Plant Protection, and the Department of Agronomy. The students were given the opportunity to learn more about the academic focus of each department, career prospects, and several flagship programs such as the Fast Track Program, International Undergraduate Class (IUC), scholarships, and student exchange programs.

The session was lively, with many students enthusiastically asking questions related to current agricultural issues, courses in the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness program, and career opportunities in the agronomy field. They also actively participated in a quiz game session where they won exclusive merchandise from the faculty.

Muhammad Prima Putra, S.Pi., M.Sc., Ph.D., a lecturer at the faculty, delivered an inspiring message to the students, encouraging them to start planning their future goals early. He emphasized the importance of setting a clear target and striving for it wholeheartedly. “If you aim to study at UGM, make it your top priority, put in your best effort, and keep praying. God willing, with hard work, you will achieve the best results,” he said.

This visit also served as part of the Faculty of Agriculture UGM’s commitment to supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).
