The Leadership Public Lecture was held in a hybrid format (offline and online) on Friday, 21 March 2025, at the Prof. Harjono Danoesastro Auditorium, Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM). The event garnered strong enthusiasm from students of the Faperta UGM through the presence of an esteemed guest speaker, Rikko Sajjad Nuir, S.E., M.Comm, familiarly known as Rikko, who is the Co-founder of PT Inamas Sintesis Teknologi (INASTEK). The event was attended by students and lecturers involved in leadership courses, with the aim of fostering understanding and developing leadership qualities among participants.

In her opening remarks, the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of the Faculty of Agriculture UGM, Dr. Dyah Weny Respatie, S.P., M.Si., conveyed her hopes that the lecture would serve as a platform for discussion and learning about entrepreneurship.

“Today, we will gain many valuable insights from Mas Rikko, who, despite his young age, has exceptional experience in the business world,” said Dr. Weny.

On this occasion, Rikko delivered a lecture titled “Starting Your Own Business”, which emphasised the importance of visionary leadership in selecting a core business team. He also discussed the significance of shared vision and complementary expertise, the strategic use of networks, and the development of sound business strategies.

“We do not need substantial capital or entrepreneurial parents to start a business. The real challenge lies in maintaining and growing the business so that it remains sustainable,” said Rikko.

In addition to the presentation, the event featured an interactive question-and-answer session, providing participants with the opportunity to engage directly with the speaker. This interaction served to further motivate students in preparing effective strategies for launching new ventures. The session concluded with the presentation of a souvenir to the speaker, followed by a documentation session.

Through this activity, the Faculty of Agriculture UGM reaffirms its commitment to delivering quality education and equipping students with practical knowledge and insights into the business world. This initiative also contributes to the achievement of several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely SDG 1: No Poverty; SDG 2: Zero Hunger; SDG 4: Quality Education; SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
