Guest Lecture on Organizational Communication Discusses Community Empowerment Based on Environmental Sustainability

Bachelor of Agricultural Extension and Communication Program (PKP) at the Faculty of Agriculture UGM provides a platform for students to learn social sciences within the agricultural sector. As part of the Organizational Communication course, the PKP program held a guest lecture on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, inviting an expert in the field to discuss community empowerment practices based on environmental sustainability.

Muhammad Rum, Head of the External Partnership Division at PT Tuah Turangga Agung, shared his experiences working at PT Tuah Turangga Agung (Turangga Sources), a company focused on managing coal mining assets. As someone responsible for the company’s external partnerships, Rum emphasized the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) communication as a key part of structured organizational practices.
“In any organization, including companies, it’s crucial to focus on CSR communication. CSR communication aims to build reputation and trust among consumers and serves as a dialogue platform with the community and various stakeholders involved,” Rum explained to the 69 students attending the lecture. read more

Community Service to Celebrate the 78th Anniversary of the Faculty of Agriculture UGM: Development of Superior Avocado Fruit in Gunung Gambar

The Faculty of Agriculture UGM is committed to productive conservation efforts by integrating environmental management with the development of economically valuable crops such as coffee and avocados. The community service activity, titled “Pengembangan Kebun Buah Alpukat Unggul untuk Mendukung Kawasan Konservasi Produktif” (Development of Superior Avocado Orchards to Support Productive Conservation Areas), focused on avocados with the aim of not only conserving nature but also improving the welfare of local communities through productive agricultural outcomes. read more

Exploring the World of Fisheries Through ‘Kenal Perikanan’ at the Faculty of Agriculture UGM

The Department of Fisheries at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), hosted the “Kenal Perikanan” event to provide students with a deeper understanding of the fisheries sector. The event took place over two days, from 6-7 September 2024, in Cirebon, West Java. This year, 212 students, 30 faculty members, 12 educational staff, and 6 companions from the Aquaculture, Aquatic Resource Management, and Fisheries Product Technology study programs participated in the Kenal Perikanan 2024 event.During the event, students had the opportunity to visit several fisheries-related institutions, including the Tegalsari Fishery Port (PPP) in Tegal, the Kejawanan Cirebon National Fishery Port (PPN), PT Sambu Perkasa Mandiri, PT Pan Putera Samudra, PT Perdana Investama Mina, and the Kersa Mulya Bakti Fishery Group. read more
