Lentera DESA, an online education and training platform in the agrocomplex sector, which covers agriculture, fisheries, and livestock, has achieved a significant milestone by being selected for the Innovative Challenge program organized by the Innovative Academy at Universitas Gadjah Mada. This platform not only offers training but also provides a discussion space where users can exchange information and build relationships within the community.

The Innovative Challenge is a flagship program of UGM aimed at incubating and facilitating various innovations designed to address problems or create new solutions in various fields. The program provides a platform for creative ideas to develop into solutions that are ready to be implemented and sustainable. Lentera DESA is one of the innovations that passed the selection process and will receive intensive mentoring for 8 weeks, from October 12th until November 16th, 2024.

On 12 October 2024, Lentera DESA participated in a mentoring session on the topic “Mapping Stakeholders & Customer Archetypes,” which was held at Artotel Yogyakarta. During this session, Lentera DESA aimed to map the problems and opportunities in the agrocomplex education sector and learn how to conduct independent market research to develop its product ideas. The event was also attended by other start-ups and innovators and guided by experienced mentors in their respective fields.

One of the team members of Lentera DESA, Rani Nur Rochim, S.P. (Alumnus of the Faculty of Agriculture, 2018), shared her hope for the program

“We feel very fortunate to be part of this mentoring program, with the hope that Lentera DESA can continue to grow and provide benefits to the community, especially farmers,” said Rani

Lentera DESA’s success in entering the Innovative Challenge program marks a significant step toward a brighter future for the agriculture, fisheries, and livestock sectors through digital solutions that support the development of knowledge and skills for those involved. This also aligns with efforts to achieve the SDGs, including SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
