In celebration of its XV Lustrum, the Faculty of Agriculture (Faperta) Library organized a series of engaging activities on Friday, 6 September 2024. The event, themed “Library Literacy Week: 75th Anniversary,” welcomed students, faculty members, and staff of the Faculty of Agriculture and featured activities including a fitness session and an awards ceremony for winners of the XV Lustrum Library challenges.
The event began with a group exercise session held at the Faculty of Agriculture’s Stage Area. Participants from diverse backgrounds enthusiastically followed the movements led by a professional instructor. The fresh morning atmosphere added to the participants’ enthusiasm for exercising together.
Following the exercise, the event continued with an opening speech from the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Ir. Jaka Widada, M.P., Ph.D. In his remarks, the Dean expressed his hopes for the library’s continued progress:
“Congratulations to the library team for their creativity and innovation in continually evolving to stay relevant. May the Faculty of Agriculture Library achieve even greater success,” said the Dean.
The speech was followed by the ceremonial cutting of the traditional tumpeng rice cone, led by the Dean and accompanied by Dr. Dyah Weny Respatie, S.P., M.Si., Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs; Dr. R.A. Siti Ari Budhiyanti, S.T.P., M.P., Vice Dean for Finance, Assets, and Human Resources; Agus Sudarwinto, S.E., M.M., Head of Administrative Office; and Laili Hidayah, S.Sos., M.A., representing the Faculty of Agriculture Library.
Afterward, awards were presented to students who had excelled in academic and non-academic fields.
Exciting prizes, including plant seeds, vegetables, household supplies, furniture, stationery, and electronic devices, were distributed to attendees whose raffle numbers were drawn. The festive atmosphere was heightened as participants eagerly awaited the door prize announcements.
This anniversary celebration not only served as an enjoyable occasion but also brought the library closer to the entire faculty community. Such events are hoped to continue in the future, fostering positive energy among the academic community.
The commemoration of the XV Lustrum of the Faperta Library underscores the UGM Faculty of Agriculture’s commitment to providing quality education and contributing to the realization of Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
