The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), continued the Summer Course on Sustainable Tropical Agriculture 2025 (SC-STA 2025) on its third day, Wednesday, 6 August 2025, with a field visit to the Bumi Langit Institute in Imogiri, Bantul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta. The visit was accompanied by Faperta UGM lecturers, Dr. Prayogo Probo Asmoro, S.P., M.Si., and Andrianto Ansari, S.T.P., M.Agr., Ph.D.

In this session, participants from various countries including Singapore, Bangladesh, Gambia, and the Philippines gained first-hand learning about the concept of permaculture, a sustainable farming approach that harmonizes human activities with nature. Guided by Bumi Langit facilitator, Mrs. Ria, the group explored three main stations: Water Management, Fermentation, and Greywater Treatment.

Participants from various countries, including Singapore, Bangladesh, Gambia, and the Philippines, were guided by Prof. Ir. Irfan Dwidya Prijambada, M.Eng., Ph.D., and Dr. Najmu Tsakib Akhda, S.P., M.Sc., to gain a deeper understanding of the functions and roles of Wanagama Forest in sustainable tropical forestry management.

A Team from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) successfully clinched first place in the Business Plan Competition (BPC) at the 2025 National Cooperative Jamboree (Jamkopnas), held at Universitas Sebelas Maret, Surakarta, from 28-30 May 2025.

The winning team was led by Ghiffari Putra Agoeng (Faculty of Agriculture, 2023), with team members Muhamad Dafin Attoriq (Faculty of Engineering, 2023) and Falinkha Nazzara Ardya Varally (Faculty of Economics and Business, 2024). In addition, UGM’s Student Cooperative (Kopma UGM) also delegated Indah Amalia Indrayani (Vocational School, 2024) to accompany the team. They were further supported by Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari, SE., Akt., M.Com. as academic supervisor and Desi Utami, S.P., M.Env.Sc., Ph.D., as an advisor with expertise in microbiology.
