The Sleman Regency Millennial Farmer Economic Empowerment Team, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada, chaired by Dody Kastono, S.P., M.P., received an award as “Strategic Partner for Human Resource Development for Millennial Farmers in Sleman Regency”. The award was given by the Regent of Sleman, Dra. Hj. Kustini Sri Purnomo, at the Sleman Multipurpose Building in the Acceleration event for 1000 Sleman Millennial Farmers Towards Downstream Agricultural Products on Wednesday, 31 July 2024.

Faculty of Agriculture UGM officially welcomed new students on Wednesday, 31 July 2024 with a symbolic opening by the Dean of the UGM Faculty of Agriculture, Ir. Jaka Widada, M.P., Ph.D. On this occasion, the Dean welcomed 599 new students from the Faculty of Agriculture UGM class of 2024. The event name was PIONIR Organik 2024, a series of students event to welcome new students annually.
“Welcome to all new students at the UGM Faculty of Agriculture. “By welcoming you here, I hope you can all learn to be responsible students and have integrity” said the Dean.
As a commitment in internationalization development, Faculty of Agriculture UGM has various cooperation agreements with overseas universities, including Yonsei University, South Korea. Through the cooperation agreement between the two parties, Faculty of Agriculture UGM accepts Andriamanantena Ramasasiarisoa Vonihanitriniaina Diamondra Zoharilala, a PhD student from Civil and Environmental Engineering, Yonsei University, South Korea, in a joint research program.
Voni, her nickname, is involved in research on gas emissions in the river. She worked on a project, entitled “Effect of Antrhropological Activites on Carbon Dioxide and Methane Emissions in Tropical Headwater Streams”. During her research at Faculty of Agriculture UGM, Voni was supervised by Prof. Dr. rer. Nat. Junun Sartohadi, M.Sc., a Professor at the Department of Soil UGM, who is also the Head of the Centre for Agroecology and Land Resources Studies UGM.
