A warm and familial atmosphere enveloped the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. Under a clear sky, the faculty’s big family gathered for the Halalbihalal agenda to celebrate the victory of Eid al-Fitr. The event began solemnly with the soothing recitation of Gema Wahyu Ilahi, as if washing the souls of every attending member of the academic community to return to a pure nature (fitrah).

The solemn gathering was attended by faculty leaders, academic staff, administrative personnel, retirees, and student representatives. The event opened with a collective prayer as a form of gratitude for the smooth observance of worship during the month of Ramadan. Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and Xiamen University have reaffirmed their shared commitment to advancing knowledge, research, and global cooperation. The two universities established the foundation of their collaboration through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2019, which was later renewed in 2025. This commitment is now being followed up through the formation of a more specific and applicable cooperation framework at the faculty and institutional levels.

This collaboration is realized through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between the Faculty of Agriculture (Faperta) UGM and the Research School for Southeast Asian Studies (RSEAS) at Xiamen University. The main goal of this MoA is to encourage international collaboration in the fields of Indonesia-China relations, sustainable agriculture, and socio-economic development in rural Indonesia, and even beyond. read more
