Community Service of PKP Study Program: Supporting Paguyuban Luhur Jiwo to Achieve 2nd Place in the Philippines

Paguyuban Luhur Jiwo, as one of the targets of the community service team from the Agricultural Extension and Communication Study Program (Prodi PKP) at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada, successfully won second place at the 2024 Asia-Pacific Local Leaders Forum for Disaster Resilience (APLL4DR) in Manila, the Philippines, on October 14, 2024. Paguyuban Luhur Jiwo, represented by Yustina Wardani, received support from the Prodi PKP community service team, coordinated by Mesalia Kriska, S.P., M.Sc., particularly in the creation of a profile video of the community’s activities, which was compiled by Abdurahman Agosto, S.T., and Ishadiyanto Salim, S.Pd., M.Pd. as a supporting element for the presentation. read more

Faculty of Agriculture Welcomes Visits of SMA IT Ar-Raihan Lampung: Exploring Departments and Study Opportunities

Students from SMA IT Ar-Raihan Bandar Lampung visited the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM) in the Campus Visit event on Tuesday, 29 October 2024, at the Prof. Harjono Danoesastro Auditorium. This event aims to introduce the Faculty of Agriculture, the admission process at UGM, as well as future career opportunities from each department at Faperta UGM.

“Our goal is to facilitate students who aspire to study at UGM, including the Faculty of Agriculture. We are here to learn more about the UGM campus and the fast-track program offered. We hope that through this visit, we can provide new insights for the students in choosing their future education,” said Zayyad Namiri M.Pd.I, Education Director of SMA IT Ar-Raihan Bandar Lampung.
During the visit, the students were introduced to the six departments at the UGM Faculty of Agriculture, namely the Department of Fisheries, Agricultural Socioeconomics, Agricultural Microbiology, Soil Science, Plant Pests and Diseases, and Agricultural Cultivation. They were also provided with an explanation of the research fields in each department, the prospects for graduates, scholarship opportunities, student exchange programs, as well as flagship programs such as the fast-track and International Undergraduate Class (IUC). Additionally, the students were given a tour of the campus facilities that support academic and research activities at the Faculty of Agriculture UGM. read more

Agricultural Field Seminar 2024: Collaboration Between Shizuoka University (Japan), New South Wales Department of Primary Industries (Australian) and Faculty of Agriculture UGM

Agriculture Field Seminar is a routine activity carried out by Shizuoka University, Japan in collaboration with Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Gadjah Mada in the framework of a summer course held at UGM. This year, this summer course was attended by 17 Japanese students and 2 lecturers from Shizuoka University. As part of this event, on Monday, 2 September 2024, Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) hosted the 2024 Agriculture Field Seminar held jointly with Shizuoka University, Japan and New South Wales Department of Primary Industries, Australia. The seminar was presented by four keynote speakers who discussed the latest topics in agriculture. read more
