Over 300 High School Students Visit Faculty of Agriculture UGM , Show Enthusiasm for Higher Education

The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM) once again welcomed high school students for a campus visit. On Thursday, 7 November 2024, more than 300 students from SMA Darul Ulum Peterongan Jombang and SMA Qur’an El Tahfidh Bogor visited the Faculty of Agriculture at UGM. The students displayed great enthusiasm and curiosity in learning more about UGM and its Faculty of Agriculture.

The student delegation was warmly welcomed by Agus Sudarwinto, S.E., M.M., Head of the Administrative Office of the Faperta UGM, at the Prof. Harjono Danoesastro Auditorium. Several lecturers, including Dr. Adyatma Irawan Santosa, S.P., M.Sc., Dr. Najmu Tsaqib Akhda, S.P., M.A., and Susanti Mugi Lestari, S.P., M.Si., Ph.D., presented an overview of the Faculty of Agriculture and UGM to the students. read more

Faculty of Agriculture UGM Holds Syawalan Gathering 2025

Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM) held a Syawalan gathering on 11 April 2025 at Prof. Harjono Danoesastro Auditorium. The syawalan was attended by the entire extended family of Faperta UGM, ranging from teaching staff, administration staff, retired and student representatives.

The event began with remarks by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture UGM, Ir. Jaka Widada, M.P., Ph.D. The Dean of Faculty of Agriculture UGM welcomed the invited guests and thanked all the committees who had worked hard, in organizing this event. This event also aims to make every family in Faculty of Agricultural Sciences UGM can forgive each other and create a productive and harmonious environment on campus. This moment is not only a celebration but also a means of strengthening the relationship between the academic community. read more

Scientific Synergy: Faculty of Agriculture UGM and FIMAR Research AMR (Antimicrobial Resistance) Risks in the Agricultural Sector

The Faculty of Agriculture at Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), led by Prof. Dr. Ir. Siti Subandiyah, M.Agr.Sc., has established a research collaboration with the Finnish Multidisciplinary Centre of Excellence in Antimicrobial Resistance Research (FIMAR), under the leadership of Prof. Marko Virta. This partnership focuses on the pressing issue of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) in agriculture and its sociological impacts, particularly within the Special Region of Yogyakarta. AMR is a growing global concern where microorganisms become resistant to antimicrobials, including antibiotics. In agriculture, this resistance can affect livestock health and productivity, with the potential to transmit to humans through the food chain. The study therefore aims to investigate how AMR influences agricultural practices and community life across urban, suburban, and rural settings. read more
