Paguyuban Luhur Jiwo, as one of the targets of the community service team from the Agricultural Extension and Communication Study Program (Prodi PKP) at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada, successfully won second place at the 2024 Asia-Pacific Local Leaders Forum for Disaster Resilience (APLL4DR) in Manila, the Philippines, on October 14, 2024. Paguyuban Luhur Jiwo, represented by Yustina Wardani, received support from the Prodi PKP community service team, coordinated by Mesalia Kriska, S.P., M.Sc., particularly in the creation of a profile video of the community’s activities, which was compiled by Abdurahman Agosto, S.T., and Ishadiyanto Salim, S.Pd., M.Pd. as a supporting element for the presentation.
SDG 10: Reduced Inequality
The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) is actively participating in AgriFest 2024, organized by Centre for Agrotechnology Innovation (PIAT UGM), from 5 to 7 September 2024. On the first day of the event, Prof. Dr. Jamhari, S.P., M.P., a professor in Agricultural Socioeconomics at UGM, delivered a keynote address during a national talk show titled “Multistakeholder Collaboration towards Indonesia Golden Era 2045.”
In his presentation to an audience that included researchers, farmers, students, and vocational agriculture school students, Prof. Jamhari outlined the primary challenge of achieving Indonesia’s vision of becoming a developed nation while ensuring national food security. He emphasized the crucial need for collaboration and synergy among various stakeholders, including seed industries, fertilizer industries, machinery industries, and academic institutions.
The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) is actively working to enhance the quality of its education and prepare its graduates for global competitiveness. One of the key initiatives is pursuing international accreditation from ASIIN (Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge in Ingenieurwissenschaften, Informatik, Naturwissenschaften und Mathematik). This year, the faculty is preparing for ASIIN accreditation for one undergraduate program, Agricultural Microbiology, and three master’s programs: Master of Fisheries Science, Master of Plant Pest Science, and Master of Phytopathology. A coordination meeting was held on August 21, 2024, to advance this effort.
