Faculty of Agriculture UGM Prepares for ASIIN International Accreditation to Boost Education Quality and Global Competitiveness

The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) is actively working to enhance the quality of its education and prepare its graduates for global competitiveness. One of the key initiatives is pursuing international accreditation from ASIIN (Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge in Ingenieurwissenschaften, Informatik, Naturwissenschaften und Mathematik). This year, the faculty is preparing for ASIIN accreditation for one undergraduate program, Agricultural Microbiology, and three master’s programs: Master of Fisheries Science, Master of Plant Pest Science, and Master of Phytopathology. A coordination meeting was held on August 21, 2024, to advance this effort. read more

Faculty of Agriculture UGM Supports Students with Kagama Scholarship 2024

The Faculty of Agriculture at Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM) continues its commitment to supporting its students through the Kagama Scholarship, aimed at undergraduate students from the 2021-2023 cohorts. This scholarship is part of the Faculty’s ongoing efforts to support academic pursuits and alleviate the financial burdens of education for its students.

The Kagama Scholarship offers an opportunity for high-achieving students in need of financial assistance to continue their studies. The program is designed to enhance academic quality and motivate students to complete their education at Faperta UGM. read more

Faculty of Agriculture UGM Held an Orientation for New Faculty Members

The Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held an orientation program for new faculty members on 4-5 September 2024. The event, attended by newly appointed lecturers, as well as department and faculty organizers, was designed to prepare new faculty for their roles in the academic world.

The orientation, held at the Venture Lab r of the AGLC Building, was inaugurated by Ir. Jaka Widada, M.P., Ph.D., Dean of Faculty of Agriculture. Jaka highlighted the crucial role of lecturers in shaping future leaders in agriculture. In his opening remarks, he emphasized the values of integrity, innovation, and collaboration in the learning process and outlined the Faculty’s vision and mission under the tagline “Smart Eco-Bioproduction,” which encompasses six pillars: crop, smart, eco, bio-production, agribusiness, and communication. He expressed hope that understanding these concepts would inspire new faculty members to contribute effectively and collaborate enthusiastically. read more
