UGM Faculty of Agriculture Strengthens Global Reputation Through International Rankings

The Faculty of Agriculture at Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM) has once again affirmed its global standing through achievements in several major international ranking institutions. These results highlight UGM’s academic quality, research excellence, and contributions in agriculture and life sciences that are increasingly recognized worldwide.

In the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026 under the Agriculture & Forestry category, UGM secured a position in the 151–200 range globally. This achievement underscores the Faculty of Agriculture’s reputation as a center of education and research with international competitiveness, particularly in sustainable agriculture and environmental sciences. read more

Halal Bi Halal at UGM Faculty of Agriculture: Strengthening Fellowship and Synergy

The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada, convened the Halal Bi Halal of the Faculty’s Big Family on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at the Prof. Ir. Harjono Danoesastro Auditorium. This annual gathering served as a meaningful occasion to reinforce fellowship among faculty members, staff, students, and alumni, while simultaneously reaffirming collective commitment to addressing the challenges of agriculture in the modern era.


Halal Bi Halal, deeply rooted in Indonesian cultural and religious tradition, is not only a celebration of forgiveness and reconciliation but also a platform to strengthen academic solidarity. The presence of the entire Faculty community underscored the importance of unity as a foundation for collaboration in research, education, and community service.
In his address, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture UGM, Prof. Ir. Jaka Widada, M.P., Ph.D., emphasized the significance of opening hearts in forgiveness and using the Halal Bi Halal as a momentum to reinforce togetherness. He highlighted the necessity of synergy across departments in responding to strategic issues such as food security, digitalization, and agricultural modernization. read more

Faculty of Agriculture UGM Implements Flexible Working Arrangement for Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr 2026

The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), has implemented a Flexible Working Arrangement (FWA) policy in relation to the Nyepi Holy Day of the Saka New Year 1948 and Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah. This policy refers to the circular letter of the Vice Rector for Human Resources and Finance No. 2249/UN1.P4/DSDM/HK.01/2026 and the Circular Letter of the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology No. 2 of 2026.
The implementation of FWA at the Faculty of Agriculture is scheduled for:
● March 16 and 17, 2026 (two working days before the National Holiday and Joint Leave for Nyepi).
● March 25, 26, and 27, 2026 (three working days after the National Holiday and Joint Leave for Eid al-Fitr).
Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Ir. Jaka Widada, M.P., Ph.D., stated that this policy aims to optimize the performance of lecturers and education staff while supporting the effectiveness of task implementation during national holidays and joint leave.
The technical provisions for implementing FWA within the Faculty of Agriculture include:
● Attendance requirements during the FWA period will be waived.
● The rights of lecturers and education staff to receive meal allowances remain valid according to regulations.
● Unit leaders may require staff to be present on-site based on organizational needs.
● The criteria and composition of staff implementing FWA are determined by the respective unit leaders.
● Optimization of collaborative work systems and the use of information and communication technology to support task effectiveness.
The FWA policy also supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, and SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions. read more
