PKM-K Team from UGM Faculty of Agriculture Wins Two Bronze Medals at PIMNAS 37

The Student Creativity Program in Entrepreneurship (PKM-K) team from the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada, with their project entitled “EcoPrime Feed: Innovative Utilization of Invasive Species as High-Quality, Economical, and Environmentally Friendly Fish Feed,” successfully won two bronze medals at the 37th National Student Science Week (PIMNAS). The team, led by Gerson Lewis (Aquaculture 2023), earned bronze medals in both the poster and presentation categories. read more

Community Service to Celebrate the 78th Anniversary of the Faculty of Agriculture UGM: Development of Superior Avocado Fruit in Gunung Gambar

The Faculty of Agriculture UGM is committed to productive conservation efforts by integrating environmental management with the development of economically valuable crops such as coffee and avocados. The community service activity, titled “Pengembangan Kebun Buah Alpukat Unggul untuk Mendukung Kawasan Konservasi Produktif” (Development of Superior Avocado Orchards to Support Productive Conservation Areas), focused on avocados with the aim of not only conserving nature but also improving the welfare of local communities through productive agricultural outcomes. read more

Department of Soil UGM Hosts Guest Lecture with National Taiwan University Professor

On Wednesday, 4 September 2024, the Department of Soil at the Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), organized a guest lecture themed “Micrometeorology Technology for Precision Agriculture and Carbon Farming.” The lecture was delivered by Prof. Cheng-I Hsieh from the Department of Bioenvironmental Systems Engineering at National Taiwan University, held at the Prof. Harjono Danoesastro Auditorium.

During the session, Prof. Cheng-I Hsieh covered three key topics that are currently of significant interest among researchers: precision agriculture for farm management, indoor vertical farming, and carbon farming. He also highlighted the connection between smart agriculture, micrometeorology, and machine learning, which closely relates to artificial intelligence. In his presentation, he shared several case studies from Taiwan and discussed the results of his collaborative research on micrometeorology. read more
