Monday, 14 August 2023, marks the starting point of a new academic journey for the New Undergraduate Students of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), including the First Batch Students of International Undergraduate Class (IUC) at Faculty of Agriculture UGM. The IUC is a new, fresh offer for Undergraduate Students Batch 2023 at the Faculty and intended to be a knowledge-enriching as well as perspective-broadening education environment for Students in the VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity) era. Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Dr. Dyah Weny Respatie, S.P., M.Si., said that IUC is part of internationalization steps. As a highlight, 8 Study Programs at Faculty of Agriculture UGM are internationally accredited by ASIIN.

For the First Batch, the Faculty accepts 19 Students for Cluster of Agriculture and 6 Students for Cluster of Fisheries. In addition, The Faculty is going to select 3 more Students who hold KIP-Kuliah (10% of total Students accepted) to be the scholarship awardees of IUC.

The courses in IUC are all taught in English. On Monday, some lectures have been conducted, such as Management and Agricultural Economics with Prof. Dr. Ir. Irham, M.Sc., Agronomy with Dr. Ir. Taryono, M.Sc., and Aquatic Ecology with Dr. Ratih Ida Adharini, S.Pi., M.Si.

As part of learning and academic journey, the Students will be encouraged to have international exposure activities. May all learning process be an enjoyable and fruitful experience!
