Blood Donation for Plantagama’s 42nd Anniversary: A Manifestation of Student Social Concern

The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada, once again hosted a humanitarian activity through a Blood Donation event in commemoration of the 42nd Anniversary of Plantagama. This activity is not only an annual tradition but also a tangible expression of students’ concern for others.

In an interview with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), Agus Wiranto, who serves as a driver for the PMI crew, expressed his appreciation for the role of students as strategic partners in fulfilling the national blood supply. read more

Academic and Cultural Experience: Nabilah Salma’s Student Exchange at Ibaraki University

The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), continues to expand its global engagement through student participation in the ASEAN International Mobility for Students (AIMS) program. Nabilah Salma Jamaludin, a 2022 student of the Agricultural Microbiology Study Program, had the opportunity to study at Ibaraki University, Japan, for approximately four months, from September 25, 2025, to January 31, 2026.

During the program, Nabilah enrolled in several courses focusing on environmental and sustainability issues, including Adaptation to Environmental Change and Disaster Risk, Environmental and Symbiotic Science, Environmental Conservation Agriculture, and Special Lecture on Regional Sustainability Science I & II. She also took Field Experimental Works, Cross-Cultural Communication, and Overview of Regional Sustainability Science. read more

UGM Agronomy Student Joins AIMS Program at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology

The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), continues to strengthen its commitment to the internationalization of education through the ASEAN International Mobility for Students (AIMS) program. Asayari Puspita Gutama, a 2023 student of the Agronomy Study Program, had the opportunity to participate in a student exchange at the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT), Japan, for approximately 3.5 months, from September to December 2025.

During her time at TUAT, Asayari enrolled in 18 courses totaling 18 credits, as the system there assigns 1 credit for each course taken by exchange students. She noted that the learning system was quite different from Indonesia, particularly because many courses were accompanied by field visits. This provided students with the opportunity to directly observe the application of the material being studied, thereby strengthening practical understanding and enriching academic experience. read more
