Community Service of PKP Study Program: Supporting Paguyuban Luhur Jiwo to Achieve 2nd Place in the Philippines

Paguyuban Luhur Jiwo, as one of the targets of the community service team from the Agricultural Extension and Communication Study Program (Prodi PKP) at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada, successfully won second place at the 2024 Asia-Pacific Local Leaders Forum for Disaster Resilience (APLL4DR) in Manila, the Philippines, on October 14, 2024. Paguyuban Luhur Jiwo, represented by Yustina Wardani, received support from the Prodi PKP community service team, coordinated by Mesalia Kriska, S.P., M.Sc., particularly in the creation of a profile video of the community’s activities, which was compiled by Abdurahman Agosto, S.T., and Ishadiyanto Salim, S.Pd., M.Pd. as a supporting element for the presentation. read more

Faculty of Agriculture UGM Provides Hands-on Experience for ASEAN International Mobility Student (AIMS) Students to Learn Tea and Cocoa Cultivation

Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM) just held its annual Kenal Kebun 2024 event, held in two phases from 23-25 August and 30 August 30 to 1 September 2024. This year’s program saw participation from 384 local students and 9 international students from the ASEAN International Mobility Student (AIMS) program, hailing from Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, and Laos.

Kenal Kebun 2024 aims to provide students with direct, hands-on experience in the cultivation and processing of tea and cocoa, commodities not commonly encountered on campus. Prof. Subejo S.P., M.Sc., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation, highlighted the value of this initiative. “This is an exceptional opportunity for students to experience agricultural practices firsthand, enriching their theoretical knowledge with practical insights,” said Prof. Subejo. read more

The Sleman Regency Millennial Farmer Economic Empowerment Team, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada, chaired by Dody Kastono, S.P., M.P., received an award as “Strategic Partner for Human Resource Development for Millennial Farmers in Sleman Regency”. The award was given by the Regent of Sleman, Dra. Hj. Kustini Sri Purnomo, at the Sleman Multipurpose Building in the Acceleration event for 1000 Sleman Millennial Farmers Towards Downstream Agricultural Products on Wednesday, 31 July 2024. read more
