Strategic Partnership: Faculty of Agriculture UGM and ERIA Lead Evaluation of Digital Agriculture in Indonesia

The Faculty of Agriculture at Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), led by Prof. Subejo, S.P., M.Sc., Ph.D., is collaborating on a research partnership with the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA). This initiative aims to analyze the utilization and challenges of digitalization in the agricultural and food systems in Indonesia, under the study titled “Benefits and Challenges of Digitalization in Agriculture and Food System for Enhanced Resilience and Improved Sustainability.” read more

Scientific Synergy: Faculty of Agriculture UGM and FIMAR Research AMR (Antimicrobial Resistance) Risks in the Agricultural Sector

The Faculty of Agriculture at Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), led by Prof. Dr. Ir. Siti Subandiyah, M.Agr.Sc., has established a research collaboration with the Finnish Multidisciplinary Centre of Excellence in Antimicrobial Resistance Research (FIMAR), under the leadership of Prof. Marko Virta. This partnership focuses on the pressing issue of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) in agriculture and its sociological impacts, particularly within the Special Region of Yogyakarta. AMR is a growing global concern where microorganisms become resistant to antimicrobials, including antibiotics. In agriculture, this resistance can affect livestock health and productivity, with the potential to transmit to humans through the food chain. The study therefore aims to investigate how AMR influences agricultural practices and community life across urban, suburban, and rural settings. read more

Improving the Quality of MOCAF Flour and Processed Products at Restu Ibu Women’s Farmer Group, Sleman

A community service program carried out at the Restu Ibu Women’s Farmer Group (KWT), Maguwoharjo Village, Depok Subdistrict, Sleman Regency, successfully improved the quality of MOCAF (Modified Cassava Flour) and developed a range of MOCAF-based processed food products.

The program ran for eight months, from April to November 2024, and involved a team from the Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), consisting of Muhammad Saifur Rohman, S.P., M.Si., M.Eng., Ph.D., Dr. Ir. Triyanto, M.Si., along with students from the Aquaculture Study Program, including Nanang Kurnia Putra, Khoridatul Lutfiyah, Miftakhul Jannah, Devian Bilhaq Robby Muhammad, and Matteo Abraham Kobe Susetyo. read more
