Guest Lecture Osaka University: The Role of Microorganisms in Waste Management and Environmental Sustainability

The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), organized a guest lecture titled “Effective Role of Microorganisms in Waste Management and Environmental Sustainability.” held on 14 March 2025. The event was held in a hybrid format, with an offline session at the AGLC Building, Faperta UGM, and an online session via Zoom and YouTube streaming. The keynote speaker was Prof. Fujiyama Kazuhito from Osaka University, Japan, a well-known expert in environmental microbiology. The event was opened by Prof. Ir. Irfan Dwidya Prijambada, M.Eng., Ph.D., a professor from the Department of Agricultural Microbiology, Faculty of Agriculture, UGM. read more

President Director of PTPN III Shares Tips on Becoming a Professional with Strong Character for Prospective Graduates of UGM Faculty of Agriculture

Dr. Mohammad Abdul Ghani, President Director of Holding Perkebunan Nusantara PTPN III, shared essential tips on how to become a professional with strong character. He delivered these insights to 286 prospective graduates of the Undergraduate Program at the Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), for the 2023/2024 Academic Year Period IV.The tips included eight key capacities that prospective graduates should develop,including Risk-taking, Curiosity, Managing diversity, Driving innovation, Networking, Digital leadership, Driving execution, and Self-differentiation. read more

Celebrating the 78th Anniversary, Faculty of Agriculture UGM Holds Fishing Competition

To celebrate the 78th Anniversary of the Faculty of Agriculture at Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), the Faculty of Agriculture organized a fishing competition. This competition was divided into two categories: male and female. The female category was held at the Fisheries Department Pond on Friday, 9 August 2024, while the male category took place at the Belik River Stream of the Fisheries Department on Friday, 16 August 2024.

Nur Ari Purnomo, a staff member of the Fisheries Department’s Administrative Office and a member of the sports committee, explained that the high enthusiasm of temporary daily workers (THL), educational staff (tendik), and lecturers was the main reason for choosing a fishing competition as part of the anniversary celebrations. This event received an enthusiastic response, evidenced by the participation of 30 female and 90 male contestants. Although the fishing competition has become an annual event at the Faculty of Agriculture, it always brings a unique atmosphere each year. read more
