Digitalizing Agricultural Extension: Lentera Desa Holds Training for Agricultural Instructors from Bapeltan Central Java

Lentera Desa, through the Community Service Program of the Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), successfully held a digital agricultural extension content creation training on Tuesday, 7 January 2025. The event was attended by agricultural instructors and facilitators from the Agricultural Training Center (Bapeltan) of Central Java, demonstrating their commitment to enhancing extension skills in the digital era.

The training focused on digital content creation techniques, ranging from video shooting to editing using the CapCut application. The guest speaker, Maman Agosto, a practitioner lecturer in audiovisual media at Faperta UGM provided practical guidance and useful tips for producing engaging and informative content.

UGM Faculty of Agriculture Team Holds Cocoa Bean Fermentation Training to Improve Local Cocoa Quality

On Sunday, 25 August 2024, the UGM Faculty of Agriculture (Faperta UGM) community service team held a small-scale cocoa bean fermentation training session to enhance farmers’ knowledge and skills in producing high-quality cocoa beans. The activity took place at Wondis Chocolate MSME, Banjarharjo Village, Kalibawang District, Kulonprogo Regency.

The training involved 30 participants, including members of the Pawon Gandhis women farmer group (Wondis), local youth, cocoa farmers, undergraduate students from the Faculty of Agriculture UGM, and international students from the AIMS Program.

UGM Faculty of Agriculture Team Conducts Soil Fertility Management Training Through Lentera DESA Digital Platform

A community service team from the Faculty of Agriculture UGM (Faperta UGM), led by Dr. Alia Bihrajihant Raya, S.P., M.P., Ph.D., and joined by interdisciplinary faculty members—Prof. Subejo, S.P., M.Sc., Ph.D., Dr. Desi Utami, S.P., M.Env.Sc., Ph.D., Dody Kastono, S.P., M.P., Angga Prasetya, S.P., M.Sc.—along with undergraduate and graduate students, developed an innovative training program to improve soil fertility management using the Lentera DESA digital platform.

Lentera DESA is designed as an innovative educational platform offering training and discussion features to facilitate the dissemination of agricultural knowledge. Using a blended learning method that combines online and in-person meetings, this program aims to enhance the capacity of farmers and agricultural extension officers in understanding soil fertility management.
