Master’s Program in Phytopathology Strengthens Education Quality Through Excellent Accreditation from BAN-PT

The Master’s Program in Phytopathology at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM) has received excellent accreditation from BAN-PT. This accreditation is valid from 12 November 2024 to 3 May 2025, confirming that the Phytopathology Master’s Program at UGM meets the standards of education, research, and community service. This achievement also realizes the Phytopathology Master’s Program’s commitment to strengthening its education quality, ensuring the production of excellent graduates in the field of phytopathology.

Dr. Dyah Weny Respatie, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Student Affairs at the Faculty of Agriculture UGM, stated that this success is a manifestation of the faculty’s commitment to improving the program’s reputation.

“This achievement is expected to encourage the Phytopathology Master’s Program to continue maintaining and improving the quality of education. It also reflects the Faculty of Agriculture’s commitment to strengthening the program’s reputation,” said Weny.

Meanwhile, Dr. Hani Perwitasari, S.P., M.Sc., Head of the Quality Assurance Team at Faculty of Agriculture UGM, added that this accreditation reflects the successful implementation of a good quality assurance system in the program.

“This accreditation proves that the program has met the quality standards required for education, ensuring the learning outcomes of graduates and supporting the Faculty of Agriculture UGM’s vision and mission,” she explained.

This achievement of excellent accreditation further strengthens the Faculty of Agriculture UGM’s commitment to providing quality education and contributing to the development of science and technology in the agricultural field. This aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 1: No Poverty, SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.

Master’s Program in Agribusiness Management Achieves Excellent Accreditation from BAN-PT

The Master’s Program in Agribusiness Management (MMA) at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), has successfully obtained excellent accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). This accreditation is valid from 12 November 2024 to 7 April 2025, serving as proof of the quality of education, research, and community service provided.

This excellent status was achieved after a rigorous evaluation process, including assessments of the curriculum, facilities, teaching staff, and research outcomes within the Faculty of Agriculture UGM. This recognition demonstrates that the MMA program at UGM has met high standards in offering education that is relevant to the needs of industry and society.

The Head of the Master’s Program in Agribusiness Management, Dr. Ir. Lestari Rahayu W., M.P., expressed gratitude for this achievement.

“With the excellent accreditation obtained by the Master’s Program in Agribusiness Management (MMA), the commitment and performance of the academic community need to be further enhanced to produce graduates who can compete and are ready to face the global agribusiness challenges. There needs to be a commitment to improving the quality of education, research, community service, and collaboration with the business world, industry, and academia, both domestically and internationally,” said Dr. Lestari.

The Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Student Affairs of the Faculty of Agriculture UGM, Dr. Dyah Weny Respatie, added that this achievement reflects the hard work of everyone involved. “This recognition demonstrates our commitment to supporting UGM’s vision as a leading university that contributes significantly to society,” she explained.

The Head of the Quality Assurance Team at the Faculty of Agriculture UGM, Dr. Hani Perwitasari, S.P., M.Sc., emphasized that this success is closely linked to the effective implementation of the quality assurance system. “This accreditation proves that the program has met the education quality standards set. This is crucial for supporting the learning outcomes of graduates and the Faculty of Agriculture UGM’s vision and mission,” she said.

This achievement further solidifies the position of the MMA program at UGM as one of the best choices in agribusiness management in Indonesia. The Faculty of Agriculture UGM hopes that this success will attract more talented students and contribute significantly to the development of agribusiness knowledge that addresses global challenges.

Faculty of Agriculture UGM and Yamagata University Strengthen Double Degree Master’s Program Collaboration

On Thursday, 12 December 2024, the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada  (Faperta UGM) continued discussions on academic cooperation with Yamagata University, Japan, regarding a double degree program for the master’s degree. This meeting is a follow-up to the previous discussions held on 30 March 2024 and marks an important step in strengthening the collaboration between the two institutions.

The meeting was attended by the Dean, Vice Deans, Heads of Departments, and Heads of Master’s Programs in Agriculture from the Faculty of Agriculture UGM, as well as Prof. Keitaro Tawaraya, the Academic Exchange Coordinator from Yamagata University.

This meeting focused on finalizing the cooperation agreement and discussing the ideal double degree program structure. Through this program, master’s students will have the opportunity to earn two master’s degrees in two years, spending one year at their home university and one year at the partner university.

The meeting was productive, resulting in constructive discussions and positive responses from both parties. This step not only strengthens the bilateral relationship between the Faculty of Agriculture UGM and Yamagata University but also becomes part of the Faculty of Agriculture UGM’s efforts to produce excellent and high-quality human resources, aligned with its vision and mission.

This collaboration also reflects the Faculty of Agriculture UGM’s commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 1: No Poverty, SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, SDG 15: Life on Land, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
