Jinwon’s Exchange Student Experience at Gadjah Mada University: A Time of Challenges and Growth

A student majoring in Agricultural Economics at Gyeoungsang National University, South Korea, Jinwon Gang, participated in Asian International Mobility for Student (AIMS) program at Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada. Through this program, he experienced unique academic opportunities and immersed himself in a vibrant new culture. His time at UGM became an essential turning point in his life, filled with meaningful learning and personal growth.

Studying at UGM offered him an opportunity to explore a different field beyond his primary major. Specifically, he participated in an Agricultural Microbiology course, which turned out to be both challenging and fascinating. While his background in Agricultural Economics primarily involved data analysis and market trends, UGM introduced him to the microscopic aspects of agriculture, particularly the role of microorganisms in soil health and crop productivity. read more

Elia Laila Rizqiyah: The Youngest Postgraduate Graduate at UGM

Elia Laila Rizqiyah, a postgraduate from the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), achieved the distinction of being the youngest postgraduate graduate across UGM during the Postgraduate Graduation Ceremony for Period I of the 2024/2025 academic year, held on Thursday, 24 October 2024. Elia, who pursued the Fast Track program in the Soil Science for her Undergraduate and Master’s Programs, completed her Master’s degree at the remarkable age of 22 years and 6 months. read more

Meet Dany Juhandi: The PhD Graduate Who Achieved a Perfect 4.00 GPA with a Degree by Research (DBR) Scholarship

The Postgraduate Graduation Ceremony for Period I of the 2024/2025 Academic Year at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), was held on Thursday 24 October 2024, at the Prof. Harjono Danoesastro Auditorium. With a total of 78 Master’s graduates and 8 Doctoral graduates, Faperta UGM continues to demonstrate its capacity to produce outstanding graduates. One of the notable graduates this period is Dany Juhandi from the Doctoral Program in Agricultural Science, who achieved a perfect Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4.00 out of 4.00 through a collaboration with the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) under the Degree by Research (DBR) scholarship scheme. read more
