FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE UGM PARTICIPATE IN 13TH AIMS REVIEW MEETING IN BANGKOK, THAILAND

The Asian International Mobility for Students (AIMS) Programme organized by SEAMEO Rihed has been running for 10 years since 2009, which was previously preceded by MIT (Malaysia – Indonesia Thailand) Exchange Student Program between Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia for 3 years. Every year, the program is evaluated, and during the year, the number of countries participating in the program increases. Currently, 9 countries that implement this program, namely Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei, Vietnam, the Philippines, Japan, Korea, and the ninth country to join is Singapore.

On 11 – 13 November 2019 at the Nikko Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand, the 13th AIMS Review Meeting was held, attended by representatives of each country above, both from the Ministry of Education of each country, the international affairs office of the universities who joined this program. and related University or Faculty delegates. This time the AIMS Review Meeting was held in conjunction with the 10th anniversary of the Mobility Program (AIMS Program) and 60 years of SEAMEO Rihed. Along with this agenda, the AIMS Program and Speech Contest logo design competition was held with the theme of the student mobility program. The logo competition was won by students from University of Sriwijaya, Indonesia.

The Faculty of Agriculture sent two representatives namely Ani Widiastuti, S.P., M.P., Ph.D. as the coordinator of the AIMS Faculty Program, and Ni Nyoman Indriyani, S.E. as the administrative coordinator of the AIMS Faculty Program to participate in the evaluation and discussion of the 13th AIMS Review Meeting. At this meeting, we held discussions with teams from the university who sent students to the Faculty of Agriculture, UGM, and with other universities to possibly expand cooperation. At this meeting, AIMS alumni also gave an evaluation, and it was believed that the program had a positive influence not only on students who took part but also on the development of university education, Indonesia and globally.(aniwidia)
