The Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM) held the 14th National Seminar on Agricultural Research as part of the 78th Anniversary of the Faculty of Agriculture UGM on Saturday, 21 September 2024. During the event, participants were divided into eight classes focusing on specific agricultural fields. One of them was the Microbiology Class, held at the Agrotropical Learning Center (AGLC) of the Faculty of Agriculture UGM. This class highlighted the potential of microbes in supporting sustainable agriculture.
In celebration of its XV Lustrum, the Faculty of Agriculture (Faperta) Library organized a series of engaging activities on Friday, 6 September 2024. The event, themed “Library Literacy Week: 75th Anniversary,” welcomed students, faculty members, and staff of the Faculty of Agriculture and featured activities including a fitness session and an awards ceremony for winners of the XV Lustrum Library challenges.
The event began with a group exercise session held at the Faculty of Agriculture’s Stage Area. Participants from diverse backgrounds enthusiastically followed the movements led by a professional instructor. The fresh morning atmosphere added to the participants’ enthusiasm for exercising together.
A total of 388 students from various faculties at Universitas Gadjah Mada participated in the Japanese Class Nihongo No Nakama, held from 2-11 September 2024, at the Rachmiwaty Building of UGM’s Faculty of Agriculture. The event featured two student mentors from Yamagata University, Japan: Rina Shirahata from the Art Major, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Haruka Ishiguro from the Mass Media Communication Major, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Participants were divided into small groups of 30 people and engaged in learning Japanese, covering topics such as basic hiragana and katakana scripts, fundamental grammar, and daily conversations like greetings and self-introductions.
