UGM Ranked No. 1 in PKM 2026, Faperta UGM Showcases Innovation through PKM‑PM “Tumandur”

Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) secured the national first rank among higher education institutions with the highest number of funded Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa (Student Creativity Program, PKM) project titles in 2026. The official announcement was released by the Director of Learning and Student Affairs, Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, on May 22, 2026. Keys to Becoming a Young Entrepreneur: Faperta UGM Alumni Encourage Graduates to Courageously Turn Ideas into Reality

The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), held a preparation session for prospective bachelor’s graduates of Period III, Academic Year 2025/2026, with the topic “Keys to Becoming a Young Entrepreneur.” The session featured Sekar Ayuningtyas, S.P., founder of Tuai Bunga and an alumnus of the 2018 Agronomy undergraduate program, who shared her journey of transforming hobbies and a passion for the arts into a business.

Held at the Prof. Harjono Danoesastro Auditorium, Sekar stressed that one of the main keys to entrepreneurship is the courage to realize ideas. She urged participants to stop romanticizing ideas and instead focus on concrete steps to turn them into real business opportunities. According to her, fear and lack of self‑confidence are often the main barriers for young people when starting out. read more

Tips for Studying Abroad: Faperta UGM Alumni Share Strategies and Inspiration

The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), held another preparation session for prospective bachelor’s graduates of Period III, Academic Year 2025/2026, with the topic “Tips for Successfully Continuing Studies Abroad.” The session featured Ignatius Putra Andika, S.P., M.Sc., a Biology lecturer at Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta and an alumnus of the 2011 Crop Protection undergraduate program, as the speaker.

Held at the Prof. Harjono Danoesastro Auditorium, this session provided insights into the process of pursuing postgraduate studies abroad, including choosing universities, identifying suitable study programs, and the etiquette of contacting potential professors at target institutions. The speaker also outlined several scholarship opportunities accessible to recent graduates. read more
