Public speaking community at the Faculty of Agriculture is the skill of delivering information to an audience in a structured and engaging manner. It involves mastering body language and audience interaction to create a positive impression. Understanding personal grooming is an essential part of this process. This was emphasized by Frisca Clarissa, S.H., news anchor and producer at Kompas TV, during the workshop “How to Elevate Your Public Speaking and Look Well-Groomed” on Sunday, 25 August 2024.
On Thursday, 22 August 2024, the Library of the Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM), organized a workshop on Grammarly, Turnitin, and Ithenticate to enhance participants’ skills in supporting research and academic integrity.
This was emphasized by Dr. Dyah Weny Respatie, S.P., M.Si., Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, who also served as a keynote speaker at the event. “One of the key strategies to maintain academic integrity and avoid plagiarism is by utilizing these applications. These tools are beneficial not only for lecturers and staff but also for students, especially graduate students who require publications as part of their graduation requirements,” explained Dr. Weny.
The Faculty of Agriculture at Universitas Gadjah Mada (Faperta UGM) officially conferred degrees to 273 undergraduate students during the Graduation Ceremony for Period IV of the 2023/2024 Academic Year on Wednesday, 28 August 2024. Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Ir. Jaka Widada, M.P., Ph.D., attended the post-graduation ceremony at Prof. Harjono Danoesastro Auditorium, where he expressed his pride in the graduates’ achievements. “Graduation is a highly anticipated moment for students and their parents or guardians. We extend our highest appreciation to the graduates for their hard work in completing their undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Agriculture,” said the Dean.
