Faculty of Agriculture UGM Held an Orientation for New Faculty Members

The Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held an orientation program for new faculty members on 4-5 September 2024. The event, attended by newly appointed lecturers, as well as department and faculty organizers, was designed to prepare new faculty for their roles in the academic world.

The orientation, held at the Venture Lab r of the AGLC Building, was inaugurated by Ir. Jaka Widada, M.P., Ph.D., Dean of Faculty of Agriculture. Jaka highlighted the crucial role of lecturers in shaping future leaders in agriculture. In his opening remarks, he emphasized the values of integrity, innovation, and collaboration in the learning process and outlined the Faculty’s vision and mission under the tagline “Smart Eco-Bioproduction,” which encompasses six pillars: crop, smart, eco, bio-production, agribusiness, and communication. He expressed hope that understanding these concepts would inspire new faculty members to contribute effectively and collaborate enthusiastically. read more

Faculty of Agriculture UGM Boosts Waste Management Program

Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has received two plastic bottle collection bins from Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. This initiative is aimed at supporting waste management efforts, maintaining campus cleanliness, and raising awareness about the importance of recycling among students and academic staff.

The ceremonial installation of the bins took place on Tuesday, 27 August 2024, and was attended by representatives from Bank BRI, UGM officials, and several students. In his remarks, the President Director of Bank BRI emphasized the company’s commitment to environmental preservation and its role in raising public awareness about the importance of recycling. read more

PERMAHAMI Hosts “Study Abroad: Expanding Horizons through Education” Discussion

On 30 August 2024, the Microbiology Students Association (PERMAHAMI) held its latest academic discussion event, “Bincang Bareng Keilmuan” (BBK), titled “Study Abroad: Expanding Horizons through Education.” The event, which took place in the KPTU Room of Building A1 at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), saw the participation of 30 attendees from the Department of Agricultural Microbiology.

The discussion featured two guest speakers, Zikra Fathin Nabila and Sausan Syadzafie Shafar, both recipients of the ASEAN International Mobility for Students (AIMS) 2023 scholarship. They shared their valuable experiences from their student exchange programs in Japan and South Korea. read more
