UGM and UNEJ Agriculture Faculties Partner to Boost Academic Excellence

The Faculty of Agriculture at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and the Faculty of Agriculture at Universitas Jember (UNEJ) officially established a collaboration on Thursday, 3 October 2024. This agreement coincided with UNEJ’s visit to UGM for a comparative study and focus group discussion (FGD). The collaboration is expected to provide new insights and pave the way for strategic partnerships in human resource development, academic quality, and scientific publications at both institutions. This initiative also supports the “Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka” (MBKM) program promoted by Indonesia’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.

Celebrating Cross-Cultural Bonds: Farewell to Japanese Language Teaching Students at Faculty of Agriculture

On 11 September 2024, the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held a farewell event for Rina Shirahata and Haruka Ishiguro, students from Yamagata University, who had taught the Japanese language class “Nihongo no Nakama” for a week. The event took place at the AGLC Building of the Faculty of Agriculture and was attended by students from various faculties at UGM who had participated in the class. Rina Shirahata is a student from the Art Major, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, while Haruka Ishiguro is from the Mass Media Communication Major, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Yamagata University, Japan.

Faculty of Agriculture’s Professor Highlights Importance of Multistakeholders Collaboration for Indonesia Golden Era 2045

The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) is actively participating in AgriFest 2024, organized by Centre for Agrotechnology Innovation (PIAT UGM), from 5 to 7 September 2024. On the first day of the event, Prof. Dr. Jamhari, S.P., M.P., a professor in Agricultural Socioeconomics at UGM, delivered a keynote address during a national talk show titled “Multistakeholder Collaboration towards Indonesia Golden Era 2045.”

In his presentation to an audience that included researchers, farmers, students, and vocational agriculture school students, Prof. Jamhari outlined the primary challenge of achieving Indonesia’s vision of becoming a developed nation while ensuring national food security. He emphasized the crucial need for collaboration and synergy among various stakeholders, including seed industries, fertilizer industries, machinery industries, and academic institutions.
